Steam locomotive part 1

The first locomotive ever made was created by a man named Georgs Stephenson. The locomotive was built in 1803 and this was the first steam locomotive to run on rails.
1814 is when they finely fired it up. In the 1900s, steam locomotives evolved into more efficient and effective machines. In 1941, the American locomotive company, or LACO, created the "big boy" 4884 class 4000. You're probably wondering, "what does 4884 mean?", well for example:
If you notice this steam engine has two small wheels in the front, 6 big drive wheels, and zero wheels on the back. We do not count the tender. A little sidenote, for some reason steam locomotives are always known as "she's", don't ask me why, I don't know  any reason to it. All I know is that they are "she's". This engine would be known as a 260 with two wheels in the front and 6 big drive wheels.
This is a "big boy". Their wheels are known as 4884. There are four wheels in the front, there are two sets of Pistons with two sets of driving wheels as well. This means the engine can haul a lot more cars than a normal locomotive which is perfect for the long trains with a lot of production goods and heavy materials. This was built in 1941 and another one came after it in 1943. This one is smaller engine as it is a 4664.

Thomas the tank engine

Thomas the Tank Engine was my favorite growing up but it is quite interesting to see how they have changed going from wooden and model train like figures.
If you did not know the old Thomas the tank engine, the shows were actually shot with real model trains and the eyes were done via a Remote control.
I remember going to the Strasburg railroad PA for the day out with Thomas.
It was my favorite as I always was so eager to just run out of the car and go say hi to Thomas. This of course was when I was younger. I loved spending lots of time in the Thomas the Tank Engine gift shop, so many things there to buy. There was also a Thomas the Tank Engine gift shop above this place called the choo-choo barn.
if you don't know, in Strausburg, there is a place called the choo-choo barn and this place has a little model railroad layout inside of it. It's almost like a little strip mall as it has a restaurant on the far right side and on the far left side is the choo-choo barn and in the middle there is a little candy shop and upstairs there is the Thomas the tank engine gift shop. It wasn't really a gift shop per say, it was more of a little store and now they have a model train shop set up in a part of the store.
I always dreamed of driving Thomas the tank engine and becoming an engineer. I know a lot about trains and I think God has given me this gift because he knew I had a knack for them. I can fix model trains, I can work with them, and I can rebuild them. I will be honest, I still do listen to some of the old Thomas the Tank Engine videos and you really can't blame me because of all the stuff on TV now is so stupid. TVs not getting any better and watching the old videos kind of gives you an idea of what tv was like. God has blessed me with such an incredible gift and I want to give all the praise and glory to God because like I had said he is blessed me with such an incredible gift and he's always there for me. Sometimes I get upset and I get sad and it seems like he's not there but he always is and when in doubt I read
Isaiah 41:10 "fear not I am with you being out of dismayed for I am your God I will strengthen you I will help you I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness".

My Job and the job I want to have

I currently work in an auto parts store but I love trains. I plan to go to a college called Moadock.
This is a picture of the locomotive that they use to help train you to drive the big engine. Ever since I was a little kid, I had every wooden Thomas the Tank Engine toy you could think of. When I was very young, I loved going on trips to southern PA to the Strausburg railroad.

We used to ride on Thomas, and spend time in the gift shop.
This is where my love for trains first started. As I got older, I talked with people that worked in the model railroad industry. My love for trains grew even more while working with HO scale trains in my basement.
Currently, I have joined the Anthracite Model Railroad society, which is a club near me that works on model layouts. If anyone here would like to get to learn more about them, you can easily access their web site at this URL: http://www.amrclub.org

So let's get back to the trains. One of the biggest resources that I use for any knowledge for model trains or just models in general is YouTube. They have so many videos that help me with anything that I need. I also subscribed to Model Railroader magazine. If anyone wants to get into such a hobby, these are all very useful. A good place to experience trains up close is Steamtown. This is a place near Scranton PA that lets you walk around a train yard and walk onto trains as well as ride trolleys and other such trains. The whole place is a huge museum.

Going back to Strausburg, you'd enjoy their dining car rides. They are a little more money but completely worth it. Their food is all homemade on the train, from the lemonade, to the hoagies and sandwhichs to the best chese steaks you ever had. Their dessert choice is also great with the huge cookies being my favorite. The railroad is also across the road from the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
That's another great place to go to gather knowledge about trains. There you can see parts of trains, how trains work, and learn about other such topics. You can get directions and times from this URL: http://www.rrmuesumpa.org

That's just a touch of the things that have helped me to chose my career. I hope you all have a blessed day!
